The global industrial & institutional cleaning products market is forecast to wax at a slow rate to reach AED 84.41 billion by the end of 2010. The Asia Pacific and the Middle East however represent the fastest growing markets, exhibiting a combined annual growth rate of almost 4% according to UK’s CMPi, organizers of Working Buildings Middle East, which is scheduled to take place at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre 17th and 18th November 2008.

“The industrial and institutional cleaning products market has come a long way and the sanitation & janitorial cleaners segment forms the fundamental platform, which will continue to provide enduring healthy growth in the Middle East,” remarked Chris Fountain, Event Director of CMPi.

He noted that the series of construction projects invariably underway in the Middle East backed by high oil revenues, easing property laws and the effort to diversify local economies has stimulated the market for industrial and institutional cleaning products.

Consumers are favoring environment-friendly solutions, which provide perfect blend of technology and application. With rising raw material prices and increased downward pricing pressure from the customers, producers are under extreme pressure to optimize their production and operational efficiency.

“With increased safety standards and health concerns, disinfectants and sanitizers are positioned to emerge as one of the fastest growing segment in global industrial & institutional cleaning products market,” remarked Mr. Fountain. “Hand cleaners, another large category in sanitation and janitorial market, after hard floor cleaning chemicals and 'cleaners and degreasers' are likely to continue strong growth with enhanced hygiene concerns,” he stressed.

Working Buildings Middle East will provide a valuable opportunity for local and international companies to showcase their products and services to the increasingly important Middle East market. The new event has been designed to target all those involved in the management and maintenance of buildings and property. Working Buildings Middle East will explore the latest products, services and best-practice examples relating to the complete life cycle of a building.

*RESEARCH METHODOLOGY: The report is collated using data from companies in the major product segments of industrial & institutional cleaning, from North America, Europe, Asia-Pacific, Latin America, Middle East and the Rest of World. The data is based on historical annual market analytics and data obtained from key and niche players’ & includes both primary and secondary research comprising select online sources.

MBC Launches iMatter, the First Social Networking Site Catering Specifically for Arab Women
LONDON, April 24/PRNewswire/ -- A new social networking site for Arab women, iMatter, was launched last night in Dubai on the MBC1 and MBC4 TV channels. A 60" TV commercial introduced Arab women to iMatter and the headline sponsor of the site, Pantene Shine, and invited them to join an online community designed around their needs. The design and management of the site overcomes a lot of the difficulties sites like Facebook, Bebo and MySpace often pose for Arab women.

The site was designed and built for MBC (Middle East Broadcasting Company) by UK agency Leftfield Digital.
Social networking sites are a global phenomenon but there was nothing tailored to Arab women. The design of the site and management of the iMatter community is tailored for the specific cultural needs of Arab women.
iMatter is expected to overcome the concerns of Du and Etisalat - the two main telecommunications companies in the United Arab Emirates - regarding social networking sites.
According to Emirates Business 24/7, DU informed its customers of plans to filter the internet on Sunday 13 April, 2008 via SMS text message: "We wish to inform you that from April 14, 2008, we will be blocking sites with content that do not conform to the moral, social and cultural values of the UAE."
Leftfield Digital are working on a number of projects in Dubai as the region continues to invest heavily into its digital infrastructure.
