ALBAWABA - Several ships that are part of the Global Sumud Flotilla began to depart from the port of Bizerte in Tunisia towards the Gaza Strip on Sunday, media confirmed.

According to The New Arab, Global Sumud Flotilla ships stopped in the port of Bizerte to refuel and complete some logistical procedures before continuing their way towards the strip.

Since Sunday morning, several small ships have begun to depart towards Gaza to break the siege imposed by Israel amid the ongoing war that killed at least 64,871 and wounded 164,610 others, since Oct. 7, 2023, the Palestinian Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip said.

Moreover, another ship had also set sail from the port of Gammarth, while another will sail from Sidi Bou Said, to join the Maghreb Sumud Flotilla. All ships are expected to meet in the middle of the Mediterranean Sea.

The Maghreb Sumud Flotilla posted on Facebook on Monday morning that three ships left towards Gaza.

On Saturday afternoon, the first ship of the "Global Sumud Flotilla" set sail from the port of Bizerte, northern Tunisia, heading for the Gaza Strip, according to an announcement by the International Committee to Break the Siege on Gaza.
