Globitel, a leading provider of cutting edge roaming, VAS, network and customer care solutions, recently took part in the 12th annual GSM>3G Middle East and Gulf which took place in Dubai between September 2nd and 3rd 2007.
The conference, one of the leading communications events held in the region, presented an excellent opportunity for companies working in information and communication technologies to display and present their technological developments, and to network with leading minds working within this field.
This year, the conference brought together over 3000 decision-makers in a space that allowed them to network and to discuss issues pertaining to leading telecom operators established across the region, vendors, application developers and solution providers.
The event also offered a post-conference training course titled "3G explained”. The course was designed to allow participants to effectively interact with 90 field experts and to exchange ideas at 12 interactive panel discussions.

It is worth mentioning that the 12th annual GSM>3G MEG conference this year focused on new technological advances and innovations in the booming telecom industry in the Middle East and Gulf, for at present this industry had witnessed an increase of over 8.5 million subscribers in the first quarter 2007. Today’s region hosts over 80 million GSM subscribers and this number continues to grow. By 2010, mobile subscriptions are set to reach 108 million with a penetration forecast of 45% thus making the Middle East and Gulf region the fastest growing market area in the telecom industry with consistent growth rates across the entire region.
