Officials intercepted 26 Iraqi illegal immigrants and a German suspected of trying to smuggle them, at the port of Patros in the Pelopponese islands, the Greek merchant marine ministry announced Sunday.
The group was arrested on Saturday on the "Blue Star II" ferry, part of the Blue Star Ferries line, as it was about to leave Patras for the Italian port of Ancona, said the ministry statement.
The Iraqis were found hidden in a camping vehicle driven by Jacobs Jorn, a 31-year-old German -- PATRAS (AFP)
