Greece is seeking to cooperate with UAE in the field of upgrading the Gulf state’s navy, Greek Defense Minister Akis Tsohatzo Pouls said in Abu Dhabi after talks with Emirati officials Sunday.
The minister arrived Saturday in Abu Dhabi from Damascus, where he held talks with officials on ways of strengthening defense cooperation between the two countries.
Pouls said in an interview with the Emirati News Agency (WAM) that his country is “interested in upgrading the navy’s vessels.
“This opportunity can form the base for further cooperation between the Armed Forces of the two countries,” he said.
He pointed out that cooperation in the defense field between two friendly countries like the UAE and Greece is necessary for mutual benefit – Albawaba.com
