Greek Foreign Minister Yeoryios Papandreou is scheduled to visit Egypt next in the framework of a Middle Eastern tour that would also take him to the Saudi Kingdom, Ramallah and Israel.
According to a Greek embassy statement issued in Cairo, Papandreou would meet with his Egyptian counterpart Ahmad Maher to review the current situations in the region, according to KUNA.
It added that he would convey an initiative to present it to the officials he is expected to meet.
The statement said that the initiative includes within it five major points topped by the significance of halting violence between the Palestinians and Israelis and the return to the negotiating table.
The Greek initiative supports the Saudi peace ideas, which call for a reciprocal recognition between Israel and the Arab countries and the support of the peace movement within the Israeli society. (Albawaba.com)
