The summer is not over yet but Gulf Air Turkey office can already credit itself for the best summer ever in its 20 year history with record sales.

During the month of July and the first half of August Gulf Air Turkey office recorded a sales increase of 190 per cent over the same period last year.

In addition, due to increased demand from the Turkish market as well as the Gulf and the Middle East region, Gulf Air increased its services from four to six flights per week this summer.

"Gulf Air's significant growth in this sector has been fuelled by our ability to serve the Turkish community –business and leisure travellers and visiting friends and relatives – in tune with the demand of the period," says Gulf Air Vice President Sales and Marketing Lee Shave.

"On several days we had to upgrade our aircraft from the usual Airbus 320 to a Boeing 767, increasing the seat capacity by 100 seats per aircraft, in order to handle the increased passenger traffic."

The growth is a clear example of passengers' faith in Gulf Air for its exemplary services and excellent connectivity to over 45 destinations in its network across four continents, adds Gulf Air General Manager Turkey Eric Willems.

"Turkey offers endless possibilities all year round for visitors with different tastes – historians, archaeologists, nature lovers, divers and shoppers,” he says.
“Surrounded by four different seas, Turkey is a beach paradise with over 8000 km of sunny strips of sand. Cities like Istanbul offer visitors a modern, lively ambience of contemporary society living alongside tradition, where art and music can be enjoyed together."

Gulf Air Turkey will continue to operate six flights a week until the end of October 2006 with a modern Airbus 320 aircraft, connecting to over 45 destinations in Middle and the Far East, Europe as well as the Indian subcontinent, Australia and South Africa.
