A web petition of 10,000 signatures has been sent to UN Secretary General Koffi Annan demanding an inquiry into the murder of Palestinian children by Israeli soldiers, a website publisher said Tuesday, DUBAI, (AFP)

"We hope that as a top world official, as a human being and as a father, you may be moved to launch this investigation for the sake of the children," said the letter sent by the NewsoftheGulf.com.

The news, business and travel site, which calls itself the first "webloid" in the Gulf, asked visitors to sign the petition following widespread outrage over the murder of a 12-year-old Palestinian boy, which was caught by television cameras.

“We have collected 10,000 signatures from the public around the world calling for your office to launch an investigation with the International Criminal Court," said the letter to Annan.

"This move by the UN may also actually calm the anger that has exploded because of these murders," it added – (AFP)
