Gunmen have stormed the al-Mabrook oil field in central Libya, a spokesman for state-run National Oil Corp (NOC) told Reuters on Wednesday.
This oil field is operated by NOC and France's Total.
"Unknown gunmen stormed the Mabrook oil field last night," NOC spokesman Mohamed El Harari said, without providing details.
Just yesterday a top OPEC oil executive was released after having been kidnapped in the Libyan capital of Tripoli.
It remains unknown the identities of the kidnappers and their motives.
