Gyma spends AED 15 million to set up this plant

Gyma Food Industries, one of the leading manufacturers of dried fruits, nuts and spices today announced the opening of its new state-of-the-art processing plant in the Middle East at Dubai Investment Park, UAE. The new facility will cater to the entire GCC region as well as Africa, Asia and Levant countries.

The Gyma facility in UAE, a massive 100,000 sq feet in size, will manufacture the finest quality ingredients sourced from all across the world. The facility will deploy state of the art technology to manufacture more than 5 million kilo grams of products per year.

Speaking at the launch of the new processing facility in front of 250 guests, Mr. Jean Marc Lourau, General Manager, Gyma Food Industries, said, “We are very excited about our new endeavor in this region. Gyma has been present in the GCC region since 1992 and has widely established a strong standing in its segments. This facility is the first of its kind here. We are positive that this venture will help further strengthen our presence here.”

Mr. Lourau further added, “The growing demand for high quality food constituents such as dried fruits, nuts, spices, pulses and herbs has stimulated Gyma’s steady growth over the years. We have constantly introduced innovative technology to improve on our existing products and to launch new ones.”

Decades of expertise and experience in sourcing the best, has taken Gyma to best farms and growers in Asia, Africa, Europe, USA and beyond. It is from these far-flung places that Gyma imports its premium range of dried fruits, nuts, spices and herbs.

The ground work for the processing of Gyma spices involves identifying the paramount quality products from across the world which are then cleaned, graded, grinded, roasted, flavoured and packed. After achieving 100 per cent purity, the products are then sized to maintain batch consistency. To keep Gyma’s commitment to quality, the processing plant also has an on-site HACCP and SQF certified quality laboratory where each lot processed undergoes thorough analysis.
