The head of Israel's Shin Bet, Avi Dichter, met a few days ago in Cairo with Jibril Rjoub, head of the Palestinian Authority's preventive security apparatus in the West Bank, reported Haaretz newspaper.
According to the report, the two discussed ways to restore calm to the territories following last Thursday's cease-fire agreement reached between Palestinian President Yasser Arafat and former prime minister, Shimon Peres.
"Rjoub apparently promised to halt the shooting at the Gilo Jewish settlement near Beit Jala town in Jerusalem.
Haaretz added that Amir al-Hindi, head of the PA's intelligence service, also participated in the meeting - Albawaba.com
