Natural gas reserves discovered off the coast of Gaza earlier this week may total some 25 billion cubic meters, according to an initial assessment by British Gas experts, Haaretz reported Thursday.
Industry sources were quoted by the daily as saying that this assessment is actually disappointing, since earlier seismological tests indicated the presence of twice as much gas (50 billion cubic meters).
BG has drilled to a depth of 1,895 meters at its Marine 1 site and is continuing to conduct electronic exploratory tests, according to the daily, planning to carry out production tests during the coming days - Albawaba.com
