halliburton senior vice president – eastern hemisphere to be based in dubai

Ahmed Lotfy relocates to Dubai, strengthens Halliburton’s regional presence
Halliburton Company (NYSE:HAL) announced today that Ahmed Lotfy, Senior Vice President – Eastern Hemisphere, is relocating to Dubai following the opening of a second corporate headquarters office for Halliburton in the centrally located Gulf city.

Lotfy was based in Dubai from 1999 to 2000, where he was a product line manager, and later as the business development manager for the Middle East region. He now returns to the city as part of Halliburton’s strategic plan announced in 2006 to focus on expanding its customer relations with national oil companies while concentrating more of the company’s investments and resources in growing its business in the Eastern Hemisphere.

Lotfy’s presence in Dubai is expected to further strengthen Halliburton’s relations and activities in the four regions comprising the Eastern Hemisphere:  Middle East, Africa, Asia Pacific and Europe/Eurasia.

“The Eastern Hemisphere is already a strong market for Halliburton, and I am excited to be back in Dubai to add to our leadership here,” said Lotfy, “Continuing to grow our business here will bring more balance to Halliburton’s overall portfolio.”

Lotfy brings with him more than 30 years of Halliburton experience, having held a variety of engineering and management positions with the company around the world. Prior to his current role, Lotfy served as Vice President of the Africa region and was previously the Country Vice President for Egypt.  Relocating from Cairo, Lotfy also has worked for Halliburton in Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Kuala Lumpur, Houston, Sudan and Libya.

Founded in 1919, Halliburton is one of the world's largest providers of products and services to the energy industry, and has been active in the Eastern Hemisphere energy services market since 1926, continually growing to now offer a full range of technology and services across the company’s Completion and Production, and Drilling and Evaluation divisions.
