ALBAWABA - Thursday, Hamas said that Israel was clearly breaking the ceasefire deal by slowly moving the "yellow line" westward inside Gaza. The group says that this has forced a lot of people to leave their homes.
In a Telegram message, Hamas said that Israel's daily changes to the line go against the agreed-upon mapped limits set out in the October 10 ceasefire agreement. The group asked the mediators to put pressure on Israel to stop what they call "systematic violations."
The new violence comes after Israeli attacks that killed 35 Palestinians and hurt dozens more. Israel says that gunfire from behind the yellow line hit its troops, which Hamas strongly denies.
The Gaza Government Media Office said that the Israeli army had moved the yellow lines and made the area it rules up to 300 meters bigger east of Gaza City, mostly in the Shuja'iyya and Al-Tuffah neighborhoods. Since the ceasefire started, the office said that Israel had broken the peace nearly 400 times, killing more than 300 Palestinians.
The media office asked the mediators and guarantors of the agreement to step in right away to stop Israel's actions and make sure the truce and humanitarian protocol were followed.
The Israeli army said that the Kfir Brigade is working along the yellow line in line with the truce and political orders. The army said that its troops were on defensive tasks and clearing the area of what it called "terrorist infrastructure." They said that they found four rockets aimed at Israel on a launch platform, as well as explosives, rifles, grenades, and military gear.
In Gaza, tensions are still high because both sides are saying that the other is breaking the rules of the fragile ceasefire.
