The leading Palestinian Islamic militant group Hamas called on Palestinians Tuesday to turn up the heat in their uprising against Israel and "sow fear" among Israeli soldiers and settlers.
The Palestinians should change the way they pursue the Intifada (uprising), said a Hamas communiqué received by AFP that forecast "sharp blows against the enemy."
"We call on the Palestinians to change the methods of the Intifada ... following the latest challenges launched by the (Israeli) occupier," the statement said.
Israel carried out punishing air and sea attacks on the Gaza Strip Monday in reprisal for the bombing of a school bus that left two people dead and nine others wounded.
"It is necessary to resort to sharp blows and to methods that will sow fear in the hears of Israeli soldiers and settlers," the statement said, adding that Palestinians are "determined to pursue the battle until we achieve our hopes of liberty and the end of the occupation of our country." -- GAZA CITY (AFP)
