ALBAWABA- Hamas leader Osama Hamdan issued a strong condemnation of Israel’s ongoing offensive in Gaza, citing severe casualties and widespread destruction in the northern Gaza Strip.

In a recent statement, Hamdan shared distressing statistics, claiming over 1,800 Palestinian civilians—predominantly women and children—have been killed in the northern Gaza area alone.

He also highlighted that more than 100,000 Palestinians in the region are without basic necessities, describing a humanitarian crisis exacerbated by Israeli strikes that have left all hospitals out of service.

Hamdan held the United States and the international community “politically and morally responsible” for the unfolding tragedy, criticizing American support for Israel and what he called “international inaction.”

He rejected Israeli claims that Hamas uses hospitals as military shields, calling these accusations “complete lies,” and urged the international community to protect medical and humanitarian centers in Gaza.

He expressed particular concern over Israeli restrictions on the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), suggesting that these measures aim to erase international acknowledgment of the Palestinian refugee issue.

Hamdan also addressed escalating settler violence in the West Bank, which he described as a “dangerous escalation,” and urged Palestinian resistance against these attacks.

Addressing international accountability, Hamdan called on the International Court of Justice (ICJ) to prosecute Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his administration as war criminals.

He revealed that Hamas has engaged in talks with Fatah in Cairo to form a national committee to respond to the crisis in Gaza and to work toward a national unity government.

Hamdan expressed openness to ceasefire proposals contingent on conditions including Israeli withdrawal, the return of displaced people, and a prisoner exchange, emphasizing that the “July 2 agreement” remains central to any such deal.
