Khaled Meshaal, the Damascus-based political bureau chairman of Hamas, is to deliver an important address within the few coming days to outline his Movement's position towards numerous issues in addition to tackling a number of important topics, Hamas said in a press release on Wednesday. Meshaal's speech follows that of Israeli premier Benjamin Netanyahu, which was described by Hamas as "racist".

According to Hamas, the speech will also fall at a time of growing international interest in opening channels with Hamas to explore its stands and strategy the latest being the visit to Damascus of former US president Jimmy Carter during which he met with Meshaal.
