ALBAWABA - Hamas spokesperson, Osama Hamdan, has responded to speculations surrounding potential ceasefire negotiations with Israel. Hamdan, speaking for Hamas, downplays Israel's recent ceasefire proposition, emphasizing its lack of serious consideration. According to him, there is currently no concrete agreement on the horizon.

In a candid statement, Hamdan lays out the key demands of Hamas. These include a complete withdrawal of the Israeli military from the Gaza Strip, putting an end to the longstanding 17-year blockade, ensuring shelters for displaced individuals, international acknowledgment of the right to self-determination, and the establishment of an independent and sovereign state, with East Jerusalem designated as its capital.

Addressing a separate issue, Hamdan comments on the suspension of UN humanitarian workers accused of supporting Hamas. He dismisses these accusations as baseless and urges continued support for the humanitarian cause. Furthermore, he criticizes countries that suspend funds to the UN Humanitarian Aid Organization, labeling such actions as an active participation in tightening the noose on the people and collectively punishing them.

As tensions persist in the region, Hamas remains focused on addressing the immediate concerns of the people in Gaza. Hamdan underscores the need for a comprehensive and immediate halt to the ongoing attacks to alleviate the suffering of the resilient people of Gaza.
