ALBAWABA - As part of the second phase of a prisoner exchange arrangement under the ceasefire agreement in Gaza, Hamas has announced that four Israeli detainees would soon be released.

Additionally, the identities of 200 Palestinian inmates whom Israel plans to release were made public, 70 of whom would be transferred outside of Gaza and the West Bank.

The Red Cross, which is scheduled to receive the hostages—Daniel Gilboa, Karina Ariev, Liri Albag, and Naama Levy—who were taken during the October 7, 2023, Hamas assault on southern Israel, is also involved in the exchange. To make the transfer easier, masked combatants from Islamic Jihad's Saraya Al-Quds and Hamas's Al-Qassam Brigades assembled in Gaza early on Saturday.

After 477 days in captivity, the Israeli Prime Minister's office hailed the release of the captives and verified their identities. The deal comes after 90 Palestinian detainees were exchanged for the release of three Israeli captives last week.

According to the arrangement, 1,900 Palestinian detainees would be exchanged for 33 hostages over a six-week period. Israeli military operations in Gaza are still ongoing, and locals are being warned to stay away from battle areas, indicating that emotions are still high.

Although hundreds of relief trucks have been able to enter Gaza because to the truce, which has mostly lasted since Sunday, displaced Palestinians still confront several difficulties, including as demolished houses and a deteriorating humanitarian situation.
