After three years in hiding, Egyptian actress Hanan Shawqi has returned to the small screen in a Ramadan series called Al Wajh El Ghamed (The Mysterious Face), reported Al Jumhuriah newspaper.
The Egyptian daily said that Shawqi decided to return to acting after she was given “top star status” in the series.
The story depicts the psychological and social aspects of an Egyptian family.
It tells the tale of a University economics professor who faces an emotionally unstable husband (Kamal Riyah); which leads to an unhappy marriage. The husband, who is also unhappy, tries to escape from the marriage by charging that his wife is mentally unstable. Enter a psychiatrist who, after quite a lot of time and work, finds out that it is in fact the husband who is sick. The psychiatrist starts treating his patient only to find out that this man has been greatly affected by an incident that took place a long time ago due to Egypt’s old and primitive traditions.
Aside from Riyah and Shawqi, the series stars Sawsan Badr, Sayed Abdul Karim, Zizi Mustafa and more. The script was written and adapted by Muawad Ibrahim and directed by Abdul Aziz Al Sukkari. – Albawaba.com.
