Lebanese Prime Minister Rafiq Hariri met Saturday with Sultan Qaboos for talks on bilateral relations and developments in the region, reported the Omani News Agency (ONA).

Hariri was received at the airport by Omani depute prime minister, Sayyid Fahd, and other senior officials, said ONA.

The prime minister's visit aims at strengthening ties with the Gulf country, said the agency.

He is accompanied by ministers of foreign affairs, finance and economy, added ONA.

Hariri last week visited Kuwait, where he won a pledge from the oil-rich emirate to fund most of a 500-million-dollar irrigation and power project in southern Lebanon -- Albawaba.com
