Health officials have fanned out across Abu Dhabi and Al-Ain and the UAE's western region, inspecting more than 115 medical centers and private clinics to ensure that they are adhering to rules and guidelines regulating private-sector performance, wrote Al-Bayan newspaper. Officials reported some violations, particularly in remote regions.
The inspections began in early 1999 and have been conducted under the auspices of the Emirates Health Ministry. The officials are also checking that the private clinics have laboratories, technicians, separate reception halls for men and women, lists of service fees and recycling facilities.
