Hezbollah’s deputy chief Sheikh Naim Qassem Friday blamed the US-led coalition for creating Daesh (ISIS) by raising and funding the group, The Daily Star reported.

“We hear the world wants to confront ISIS because it represents takfiri terrorism. Who created ISIS? Those who want to fight [ISIS] are the ones who raised and funded ISIS,” Qassem said at a ceremony in Lebanon.

Qassem said the US provided the extremists weapons "starting from Afghanistan all the way to Syria and Iraq.”

Hezbollah is a radical militant group originated to resist Israeli occupation in Lebanon and now holds seats in the country's parliament. The extremists have spoken out about the coalition before, asking Lebanon not to join the airstrike efforts.
