ALBAWABA - Five rockets were launched from Lebanon towards northern Israel, AlJazeera reported Tuesday.

The Israeli army has carried out airstrikes against Hezbollah sites in southern Lebanon. At least 52 people were killed, and thousands of people were displaced in Lebanon.

According to the Israeli army, the attacks against Hezbollah in the southern suburbs of Beirut came in response to a rocket attack by the Iranian-backed group.

The Lebanese group launched missiles and drones towards Israel in retaliation for the killing of Iran’s supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, in the Israeli-U.S. attack on Saturday, Feb 28, 2026.

Yesterday, the IDF announced the killing of the Commander of Palestinian Islamic Jihad in the Lebanon sector in Beirut, Abu Hamza Rami. It said that he carried out hundreds of attacks against the army and Israeli civilians, including recruiting and training terrorists and procuring weapons.

The IDF wrote, "During Operation Northern Arrows, he [Abu Hamza Rami] managed the movement of PIJ’s terrorists along the Syria-Lebanon border and their activities against IDF troops in southern Lebanon."

In response to the attack on Iran, Tehran responded by targeting Israel and U.S. military bases in the Gulf and the Middle East.

The Guardian reported that the Iranian army (IRGC) hit an Aramco oil refinery in Saudi Arabia on Monday morning using a drone.

In addition, Iran also targeted a British military base in Cyprus.
