ALBAWABA - Hezbollah's deputy chief Naim Qassem to make his first speech following the assassination of the Lebanese group's secretary-general Hassan Nasrallah later on September 27.

UPDATE

Despite the killings of its leader and several top commanders, Qassem has declared that Hezbollah is prepared to confront an Israeli ground invasion.

Israel has not targeted Hezbollah's military capabilities, according to Sheikh Naim Qassem, who gave a defiant message in a public address on Monday. Despite recent failures in the shelling of Lebanon, he assured that the Iran-linked armed force will continue to fight.

"Israel is committing massacres in all areas of Lebanon until there is no house left without traces of Israeli aggression in it. Israel attacks civilians, ambulances, children, and the elderly. It does not fight fighters, but rather commits massacres," Qassem stated.

"Watch the speech of his eminence Hezbollah deputy secretary-general Sheikh Naim Qassem at 12:00 pm Beirut time," Al-Manar announced TV.

Later on Friday, the Israeli army confirmed the assassination of the leader of Hezbollah, Hassan Nasrallah, in an airstrike in the suburb of Beirut on Friday.

Earlier reports by Israel revealed that the army had carried out a series of airstrikes on Hezbollah's headquarters in Beirut's southern suburb targeting Hezbollah Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah.
