H.H. Sheikh Ahmad Bin Saeed Al Maktoum, President of Dubai Civil Aviation and Chairman of the Emirates Group today (Monday, November 7, 2005) inaugurated the 12th OGS (Arab Oil & Gas Show) at the Dubai International Exhibition Centre (DIEC). The show which is being held in Hall 5 of DIEC from November 7-9, 2005, will serve as a regional platform to showcase new technologies, software and machinery, covering the entire range of activities in the oil and gas industry, from production to maintenance as well as environmentally friendly drilling procedures and safety and rescue issues.
Commenting on the show, Anselm Godinho, Managing Director, IC&E, organizers of the event, said, “OGS caters to the needs of the strategic energy sector by showcasing technologies from high profile international manufacturers and suppliers, which lends the regional oil and gas producers their hallmark competitive edge. Supported by the UAE Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, OGS is the largest and longest established event of its kind serving the lower Gulf and like previous editions, the show features participation from several leading companies across the world who are geared up to deliver their latest products and services.”
The show has registered a strong presence of companies from the UK, Canada, Italy, Turkey, Russia, Malaysia, Iran, Germany, China and the UAE. This year, OGS also features the Arab Instrumentation & Automation (AIA) Show, which is a comprehensive display of technology for instrumentation, control and automation professionals. AIA is an international gathering that will enable suppliers to meet, demonstrate and sell to a diverse selection of industry buyers from all over the Middle East, the Mediterranean and the Sub continent.
Over 300 exhibitors from 30 countries taking part in OGS 2005 will be eyeing the US$ 2 billion worth of onshore and offshore oil and gas industry projects in the UAE. In addition, more than 5000 specialist visitors and buyers involved in the production and distribution of oil and gas, are expected to attend the show.
OGS 2005 will be open to trade visitors from 10.00 AM to 7.00 PM on all three days of the show.
