Hicham El Guerrouj to Face Eliud Kipchoge

Hicham El Guerrouj, who won the gold medal at both 1500m and 5000m at the 2004 Athens Olympics, will race the 3000m at the Thales FBK Games on (Sunday) 29 May in Hengelo, Netherlands. The 30-year-old will face stiff competition from 20-year-old Kenyan Eliud Kipchoge, who took the bronze medal in the Olympic 5000m. El Guerrouj has a personal best at 3000m of 7:23.09, while Kipchoge's fastest time is 7:27.72.
