ALBAWABA - With concerns about potential upheaval, the United States is preparing for its presidential election amid strict security precautions in an unprecedented environment.

Key federal buildings around the country, including as the White House, the Capitol, the Treasury Department, and the vice president's mansion, have been reinforced with metal barriers, restricted area signs, and anti-climb fence.

According to Forbes, security concerns have also led to the placement of video cameras, drones, metal detectors, and snipers at key sites, including as Maricopa County's vote-counting facility in Arizona, which was at the heart of former President Trump's 2020 election fraud accusations.

Even before the official results are revealed, the legal teams of the two main parties are getting ready for any court cases. According to The Times (UK), these difficulties may last till the January 2025 inauguration and even beyond. According to the Washington Post, the final polling results are very close, indicating a razor-thin edge in swing states. With 19 electoral votes, Pennsylvania is expected to be a hot topic and be closely watched by the legal community.

In order to guarantee a safe voting process, government authorities have increased alert levels due to the tight contest. In addition to the 70 million Americans who have already cast ballots in early voting—a record amount that has shocked many observers and prompted the media to refer to it as a "election season"—millions more are anticipated to do so on election day.

The stakes of this election are garnering attention on a global scale. According to The Guardian, a Trump victory may imply a change in strategy, whilst a Harris victory would signify continuity in U.S. foreign policy. The article also suggests that tensions can be high after the election since both sides' followers would find it hard to accept a result that does not back their candidate.
