ALBAWABA - According to FOX 5 Atlanta, after three dangerous prisoners got away from DeKalb County Jail in confusing ways, officials in Georgia are looking into a major security breach.

FOX 5 Atlanta reports that the escape was found during a normal count of the inmates on Monday morning. Officials said this led to the immediate lockdown of the prison and the start of a huge manhunt. Officials in the jail said that the missing prisoners were facing violent felonies. This raised urgent public safety worries in the east of Atlanta.

The police told people to stay alert because the criminals were thought to be armed and very dangerous. FOX 5 Atlanta reported that the DeKalb County Sheriff's Office said that multiple local and federal units were sent out as part of the search effort.

No Reason Given for the Escape

Even though it was a serious event, officials still haven't said how the prisoners were able to get away. FOX 5 Atlanta reports that the way the escape happened is still being investigated by the police, and there is no proof yet to suggest whether it was because of a mistake, negligence, or someone working at the jail.

Before the escape, the DeKalb County Sheriff's Office said that all security measures were thought to be in place. This raised questions about how the prisoners could leave without setting off any alarms.

Questions Still Exist After Fugitives Are Caught Again

Authorities said less than a day after the escape that they had caught all three inmates again and put them back in jail. According to FOX 5 Atlanta, the DeKalb County Sheriff's Office said that no one was hurt during the charges and that the locations and methods of arrest were not made public.

People are still worried because they can't see what's going on, even though the threat is over. Leaders said that a review within the organization is ongoing, but there is no information on when the results will be made public.

As the prisoners are sent back to jail, there is one thing that everyone is talking about: how could a high-security prison fail without anyone being able to clearly explain what happened?
