The leader of Lebanon's Shiite group Hizbollah called on Palestinians Saturday to carry out suicide attacks in their uprising against Israel to sow terror in the country.
"Operations carried out by martyrs are the most effective way to face the Zionists because they have a sharp material and moral impact on the enemy and plunge them into terror," Hizbollah's secretary general, Sheikh Hassan Nasrallah said on the group's Al-Manar television.
"It is unacceptable for Palestinians to continue fighting with stones," Nasrallah said. "They should be able to use real weapons to defeat the enemy.
"If these fighters in the jihad (holy war) had better materiel, the enemy and the world would be witnesses to more attacks, which would have a serious impact on the current situation and would determine the outcome of the battle."
The fundamentalist group, which recently enraged Israel by capturing four of its officers to swap them for Arabs detained in Israel, spearheaded the guerrilla war against Israel during its 22-year occupation of south Lebanon that ended on May 24 – BEIRUT (AFP)
