The home of a Hizbollah demolitions expert was destroyed by a missile minutes after he and his family left the building, located in the Lebanese city in Baalbeck; they were not hurt, reported the Israeli army radio on Monday.

Lebanese sources report that the man is related to a senior Hizbollah sheikh who was killed in an Israeli Air Force (IAF) attack eight years ago.

Hizbollah has confirmed the report but has, so far, refused to divulge any details.

According to Haaretz, The Hizbollah's communications office denied the report stating that Hezbollah Secretary General Sheikh Hassan Nasrallah was in the region at the time of the explosion.

Meanwhile, the IAF denies they took offensive action today in Lebanon, according to the radio.

However, Lebanese President Emile Lahoud said Monday Israeli helicopters have violated Lebanese airspace, adding that two of them landed near the Litani River in southern Lebanon at dawn Monday. The violation was a warlike operation and a military aggression against Lebanon, Lahoud said, quoted by Haaretz newpaper.

A United Nations officer in southern Lebanon confirmed low-altitude flyovers by Israeli helicopters shortly after midnight and said UN peacekeeping forces (UNIFIL) were checking reports that the helicopters actually landed, said the Israeli paper. The officer said the UN force has strongly protested to the Israeli army about such flyovers – Albawaba.com
