The cousin of Egypt’s toppled President Mohamed Hosni Mubarak, whose name is also Mohamed Hosni Mubarak, has announced his intention to run for president in 2012.
Mubarak, the cousin, insisted that he will not follow the footsteps of the toppled president who “led the nation into a dangerous zone,” adding that he supported the protesters in Tahrir Square despite his familial relationship with the former president.
It is expected that the arena for presidential candidacy will officially open on March 10 and remain open until April 8.
