ALBAWABA - In a recent development, the Yemeni Navy, reportedly affiliated with Houthi forces, has successfully detained an Israeli ship in the Red Sea depths.

The capture of the vessel, revealed alongside news of an imminent "important speech" by Houthi military spokesperson Yahya Saree, has sparked international concerns.

Among the 25 individuals aboard the Israeli ship, all are currently held in custody, undergoing investigation. The Yemeni authorities are actively working to verify the nationalities of those detained, as reported by an official Yemeni source to Al-Quds Al-Arabi.

The Israeli military, while denouncing the incident as a "very serious global occurrence," clarified that no Israelis were present on the ship. However, according to sources quoted by Axios, the Houthis targeted a ship "partially owned by an Israeli company," assuming control over it.

Yahya Saree had earlier warned of Houthi intentions to target ships owned or operated by Israeli companies or flying the Israeli flag. Saree's call for all nations to withdraw their citizens from crews associated with these ships and avoid any dealings with them further escalated the tensions surrounding the incident. International observers are closely monitoring the situation as it unfolds
