ALBAWABA - In a recent development in the Red Sea, an American warship and several commercial vessels have fallen victim to an attack launched by the Yemeni Houthi forces.

The incident has unfolded against a backdrop of intermittent threats from Yemen's Iran-supported Houthi forces, who have, on occasions, expressed intentions to target U.S. naval vessels supporting Israel.

Reports from a Pentagon official confirm that an assault has taken place in the Red Sea, involving an American warship and multiple commercial ships.

The Yemeni Houthi forces claimed full responsibility for targeting two ships as they were crossing the Red Sea, as a result of the inhumane attacks launched by the Israeli occupation forces on civilians in Gaza and their killing of innocent people. They also announced that they would not stop their attacks on Israeli ships as long as the war on Gaza continues.

This event follows a November 30th incident where the U.S. military disclosed the successful interception of a kamikaze drone launched from regions controlled by Houthi rebels in Yemen. The drone was allegedly closing in on the "USS Carney," safeguarding two military vessels transporting equipment in the vicinity. No harm was inflicted on the ship. While the destination of the equipment remains undisclosed, it is noteworthy that the U.S. has been engaged in substantial arms and military equipment shipments to Israel amid its offensive in Gaza. Furthermore, on November 23rd, CENTCOM reported the downing of numerous "unilateral attack drones" by the U.S. Navy destroyer "USS Thomas Hudner," originating from Houthi-held territories.

Yemen's Houthi rebels have consistently launched missile and kamikaze UAV attacks against Israel since October 31st. Their threats escalated on November 19th when they announced their intention to target Israeli vessels in the Red Sea, subsequently claiming the seizure of a commercial ship affiliated with an Israeli company in the same maritime region.
