ALBAWABA- Yemen’s Houthi movement launched another drone attack on Israel on Wednesday, marking the fourth strike within 24 hours.
The Israeli military said it intercepted two drones launched from Yemen toward central Israel, adding to a surge of cross-border attacks since Tel Aviv’s airstrikes on Sana’a last week.
Israeli air raids on the Yemeni capital killed Prime Minister Ahmed al-Rahawi of the Houthi-backed government and nine other senior ministers, making it one of the deadliest Israeli strikes on Yemen in nearly two years. Dozens of military and civilian officials were also wounded.
Since then, the Houthis have escalated their campaign, firing four hypersonic missiles, multiple drones targeting Tel Aviv, Ben Gurion Airport, and Haifa’s power station, as well as cruise missiles against Israeli-bound vessels in the Red Sea.
Houthi military spokesperson Brig. Gen. Yahya Saree said the operations are a direct response to “Israeli crimes in Yemen and Palestine” and pledged continued attacks in support of Gaza.
