According to Associated Press, Yemeni officials announced Houthi militants seized Yemen's third largest city, Taez.
Earlier Sunday, AFP reported Houthi rebels took Taez airport from forces loyal to Yemeni President Abd Rabbo Mansour Hadi.
Taez is a strategic city which lies on the road between the country's official capital, Sana'a, and Aden, the temporary capital established by Hadi. The Houthis overran this road last month.
Yemen appears to be plunging deeper into civil war since the Houthi rebels seized the capital and dissolved the parliament earlier this year.
