Cairo Amman Bank announced today that HP’s imaging and printing solutions in addition to HP’s latest management tools have helped empower its IT infrastructure and resulted in reducing its lower total cost of ownership by 10 to 30 per cent with better manageability and security and an overall improvement in customer service. HP implemented a real workgroup printing environment with a broad deployment of multiple capabilities including printing, copying, faxing and scanning-to email thus reducing the bank’s overall fleet of printers.

Phase one of the solution comprised of 75 HP LaserJet 4345xs mfp devices, plus one HP LaserJet 9050 mfp device, four HP Color LaserJet 4700n printers and  one HP DesignJet 4500 printer, along with HP WebJet Admin and FollowMe® software1.

Jordan Data Systems, one of the HP’s main partners in Amman, Jordan was HP’s partner for the deployment.

Amr Hassan, General Manager, Imaging and Printing Group, HP Middle East, said: “HP’s core strategy revolves around providing businesses with the best in class solutions, the latest technological innovations and management tools to help improve security, cut down costs with equipment that’s easier to manage.

Omar Yacoub, head of IT at CAB explains, “We are especially impressed with HP multifunctional products (mfps) and their reliable printing, copying, faxing, and scan-to-email capabilities. Numerous banking procedures are now much faster. For instance, loan applications, which previously required an unsecured fax procedure or slow site-to-site document transportation are simply scanned now and securely transmitted to the required office. We are seeing significant increases in security, management control and productivity.”

Cairo Amman Bank carries out extensive research to offer a vast variety of financial services to its customers needs and HP technologies are helping the bank meet these objectives and goals.

With 49 branches and offices throughout Jordan, Cairo Amman Bank (CAB) is the largest retail bank in the kingdom and the bank’s entire printer fleet is connected to one single network.

Established in 1960, the bank is considered the 4th largest bank in Jordan specialising in commercial, investment and automated banking operations. For this project, HP also partnered with Ringdale to execute solutions such as Followme.

WebJet Admin
HP WebJet Admin controls the bank’s new printing environment. This web-based print management tool optimises device use, controls ink costs and aids supplies management through remote configuration monitoring and troubleshooting of the networked devices.

Network-wide security
The FollowMe® solution provides network-wide security of equipment functions, and has the added benefit of centralised services accounting. For example, administrators and managers can receive a printing and copying history for any specified location and for any authorised user. This is achieved by allocating an individual user code to each user; they can then move between branch offices, using equipment as required without compromising security.

Jordan Data Systems is one of the 1st Jordanian IT companies in Jordan. Established in 1982, JDS also part of the biggest IT group in the Middle East called MDS with 75 employees serving different sectors of the Jordanian market.
