HP, the world’s largest technology solutions provider and the market leader for enterprise, small and medium businesses and consumer technology products, announced today it’s participation at Gitex Technology Week 2007, the region’s largest ICT exhibition. HP will be exhibiting in Hall 3 on Stand number E1- 3 and in the Executive Enterprise Lounge, Hall 7 (Sheikh Rashid Hall) Mezzanine- Ajman Suite showcasing the latest consumer, small and medium businesses and enterprise products and services for the Middle East. Highlighting the growing profile of the Middle East across the globe as an IT and business hub and in support of this year’s event, HP confirmed that several senior global HP executives will be visiting Dubai during the GITEX week for the first time ever.

HP Technology Solutions Group (TSG)
HP’s Technology Solutions Group will be taking a leading role within this years event as the enterprise strategic partner for success. At the show, HP TSG will be sharing with customers and partners methods to manage and optimise their IT environments for better business outcomes.
HP will also offer its customers an array of solutions that will help them solve their IT problems and deliver Adaptive Infrastructure, Business Technology Optimisation and Business Information Optimisation.
As the newly appointed Managing Director and Technology Solutions Group lead for HP Middle East, John Hoonhout will attend the event and he will meet with HP customers and partners from across the region. In addition, for the first time this year, Ken Willett, Vice President and Managing Director for HP Technology Solutions Group for HP Middle East, Mediterranean and Africa (MEMA) will attend the event.
HP Imaging and Printing Group (IPG)
HP’s Imaging and Printing Group has introduced a breakthrough printing technology, new web-based printing services, an expanded portfolio of printing and imaging products, and a host of alliances and relationships that serve the growing markets outlined in the company’s Print 2.0 strategy. HP’s Print 2.0 strategy focuses on three areas: delivering a next-generation digital printing platform that increases print speeds and lowers the cost of printing for high-volume commercial markets; making it easier to print from the web; and extending HP’s digital content creation and publishing platforms across all customer segments.
HP is executing Print 2.0 while continuing to drive innovation across its core printing business – an overall strategy designed to accelerate the company’s ability to capture a more significant portion of the 53 trillion pages expected to be printed by 2010.
With Print 2.0, HP will leverage the power of the web as a gateway for customers to communicate, collaborate and publish their content in ways they could not before.
At GITEX, HP IPG will introduce a range of new products for consumers, small and medium-size businesses, enterprise and the graphic arts community.
HP will also unveil a series of new consumer printers and cameras– counting the industry’s first touchscreen on a compact photo printer – and the world’s largest camera LCD screen, HP will also showcase a portfolio of office printers for small and medium-size businesses HP’s smallest, most compact LaserJet printer.
Additionally, HP will be displaying at the stand - the HP Designjet T1100 MFP for graphic arts technical professionals - an integrated multi-function solution with enhanced capabilities to conveniently copy, scan and print a wide range of applications that extends HP’s offerings in the large format market.
HP aims to deliver more value to customers and capture a significant portion of the $147 billion (1) enterprise printing market. At GITEX this year, HP will showcase ground-breaking, ink-based colour multifunction printers (MFP) for departmental use, marking its intent to capture more copier pages. The HP CM8060/CM8050 Colour MFPs with HP Edgeline Technology offer a powerful new printing engine which leverages HP’s investment in Scalable Printing Technology (SPT) and enable mid and large-sized enterprises to improve productivity and control operating costs.
HP has also recently expanded its global supplies portfolio by introducing the Best Choice Portfolio to deliver more customer choice, greater value, and a dramatically simplified shopping experience, both in-store and online. This is a major change in the way HP printing supplies will be offered to consumers globally. Consumers in the Middle East will be able to now enjoy a greater variety of print cartridges at new price point options and in new colour-coded packaging for easier selection in store and online.
HP Personal Systems Group (PSG)
From the Personal Systems Group (PSG), HP will be showcasing its latest innovative product portfolio including notebooks, iPAQs, desktops, workstations and Thin clients. In addition to this, HP will also be launching new desktops, notebooks and iPAQ’s, designed for any growing business with a demanding IT environment. PSG will also be announcing a new business deal with a major new customer in the region.
Amongst the strong local PSG team, attending the event, such as new General manager, Serdar Urcar, also visiting for the first time will be Satjiv Chahil, Global Senior VP for Marketing attending on 9th and 10th September and Richard Walker, Vice President & General Manager of Consumer Desktop PCs to participate in GITEX activity.
At the stand, HP will be displaying its recently launched notebooks and desktops and impressive innovative new design. PSG will also be displaying the HP Compaq nc2400 and the HP Compaq nc6400 offering compact, lightweight feature rich notebooks.
HP will also showcase its new HP iPAQ 500 Voice Messenger series, which features voice over Internet protocol (VoIP) capabilities, “push” email and the latest Windows® Mobile 6 operating system. With up to six hours of continuous talk time on a fully charged battery, the HP iPAQ Voice Messenger also leads the competition in battery life. As the first in HP’s new SmartPhone line-up, the HP iPAQ 500 helps highly mobile professionals stay connected wherever they are.
