HP Middle East to Target US$26.9 Billion MEA IT Market at GITEX 2006

HP Middle East, the region’s largest technology solutions provider and the market leader for enterprise, SMBs and consumer technology products, announced today it’s participation at Gitex 2006, the region’s largest ICT exhibition. HP announced its strongest commitment to the region to date and it’s aim to further capture the US$26.9 Billion Middle East and Africa (MEA) IT market.

Dr Philip Van Heerden, Senior Analyst, IDC, MEA, said: “The Middle East is the third fastest growing region in the world. The MEA market itself is worth US$26.9 Billion today and is set to grow rapidly over the next few years. Businesses in the region are depending on information technology more than ever before and are increasingly looking at vendors for sound IT infrastructures and services to achieve their business goals. HP is one of the few vendors with an end-to-end IT product portfolio which allows enterprises respond quickly to shifts in the marketplace with the help of flexible IT environments.”

HP Technology Solutions Group (TSG)
CIOs and Enterprises IT Managers visiting HP in the Enterprise Solution Lounges- Hall 6 Mezzanine- Ajman Suite, will be able to benefit from HP’s expertise and research the complete end-to-end solutions available. On an enterprise level, HP Middle East will use Gitex to explore market trends and enhance its understanding of the customers’ needs. With more and more businesses in the region looking to invest in the new technologies available, HP will demonstrate how enterprise customers can turn today's hot technologies into solutions that can allow them to optimize the business outcomes.
Hanania added: “There are a wide number of drivers behind the development of the IT sector in the region. From the business perspective, increased hunger amongst large enterprises for adopting latest high end technologies is really igniting the sector. Our TSG business will be looking to leverage this throughout the show and with the HP Invent Centre on the stand, customers will really be able to get to grips with the technology and get the advice they need first hand.”

HP Imaging and Printing Group (IPG)
HP’s Imaging and Printing division will be further strengthing its imaging and printing product portfolio with the unveiling of an expansive series of new products and technologies at Gitex this year.

Amr Hassan, General Manager, Imaging and Printing Group, HP Middle East said: "With our imaging and printing business, the main focus will be on maintaining our leading position across the various IPG categories. As the regional economies continue achieving astronomical growth rates, SMB’s and enterprises are increasingly looking for us to manage and secure their imaging and printing environments.
“From the consumer perspective, our customers are demanding products that are more mobile and easy-to-use. Our newest range of products and solutions have been designed with this in mind to make the lives of consumers more enriching and satisfying making printing brilliantly simple.”

HP will be announcing seven new printer-based Multifunctional Products (MFPs) at Gitex to provide a complete set of options for today’s enterprise and business customers and will also be launching two new LaserJet printers with increased power to accommodate higher printing needs. From the supplies group, HP will also be launching HP Edgeline technology which has been specifically designed to handle high volume printing.
For the high-end consumer and professionals visiting Gitex, HP will boast several new photo printers which are light, stylish, compact and feature-rich including the world’s fastest photo printer for consumers – the HP Photosmart D7363. Also on show will be the recently launched, award-winning, HP Photosmart Pro B9180 A3+ Photo Printer, designed specifically for professional photographers and a range of consumables designed for the photo consumer.
Gitex 2006 will also showcase the recently launched eight-ink HP Designjet Z2100 and 12-ink Z3100 both providing an automated color management experience that enables professional photographers to consistently print museum-quality color and black and white photos up to 44 inches wide. The HP Designjet Z3100 uses a 12-ink HP Vivera pigment system, including the HP 70 Gloss Enhancer and HP Quad-Black inks to create rich black and white prints and achieve truly neutral grays under different lighting conditions. Whether it is photographer, a graphic designer or an artist visiting Gitex 2006, the new Z Series can help share the creative vision with magnificent colour and museum-quality results accurately and efficiently, print after print.
HP Personal Systems Group (PSG)
From the Personal Systems Group (PSG), HP will be showcasing its latest innovative product portfolio including notebooks, iPAQs, desktops workstations and Thinclients. In addition to this, HP will also be launching new desktops, notebooks and iPAQ’s, designed for any growing business with a demanding IT environment. PSG will also be announcing a new business deal with a major new customer in the region.

At the stand, HP will be displaying its recently launched notebooks including the new HP Pavilion dv9000 Entertainment Notebook PC with the impressive innovative new design. PSG will also be displaying the HP Compaq nc2400 and the HP Compaq nc6400 offering compact, lightweight feature rich notebooks.

With the growing need for mobility in business, the new HP iPAQ hw6900 Mobile Messenger series is a smart device giving its customers the ability to instantly receive email wirelessly using new push-email functionality enabling them to run their business from any location. HP will also be launching the new HP iPAQ rw6815 Personal Messenger that delivers enhanced mobile communication, entertainment and productivity through simpler navigation and access to data

On the HP stand itself, HP will be looking to add a something different this year by extending its recent campaign, ‘The Computer is Personal Again’ made infamous by rap artist, Jay-Z. HP has dedicated an area of the stand to film crew offering visitors the opportunity to talk about why their computer is personal to them.
