The UAE’s National Media Council is collaborating with leading industry players to provide facilities and support for the UAE Pavilion at the Expo 2010 Shanghai where the global theme is ‘Better City, Better Life’. Huawei, who has partnered with the UAE pavilion to provide both technology and industry consultation services, is no ordinary company. Having established itself very firmly in the Chinese market it has been exceptionally pro-active in creating successful regional and local partnerships, both in the Middle East and globally.
Huawei contributes to the development of the global ICT industry and to the communities in which it operates by driving technology advancement and generating local economic benefits in an environmentally sustainable manner. The company provides key elements of the technical infrastructure and backbone of many well-known local telecommunications operators including both Etisalat and Du.
“We have been very successful in our UAE operations,” Huawei’s General Manager for the UAE Region, Mr Du Zhuang, told the Minister of Labour and Chairman of the National Media Council, Saqr Ghobash, when they met to discuss Huawei’s contribution.
“We have found the business climate here to be both transparent and welcoming”, he said. “Huawei is focused on sustained growth, continuous customer-centric innovation and quick response to support the business success of its customers. This partnership is an extension of our commitment to the dynamic and progressive Middle Eastern culture and supports our vision to enrich people’s lives through communication,” he added.
The UAE Expo Section at the National Media Council is continuing to discuss partnership arrangements with UAE based companies. It is also offering use of its Business Centre for corporate meetings and special exhibits. Partnerships additionally contribute to promote public relations and marketing of the project. The UAE Pavilion’s Commissioner General, Salem Al-Ameri, welcomed Huawei’s partnership and commented: “We expect the UAE Pavilion to be a very busy place during the World Expo 2010 and one which will strengthen friendships and build bridges across a wide variety of interest groups. This alliance with Huawei will help us to further raise awareness in China and to achieve our aims”.
