Hundreds of Saudi-led troops have entered Aden after the southern port city was reclaimed by forces loyal to the exiled Yemeni government, AFP reported Monday.
A military source told AFP the troops entered Yemen's second-largest city with tanks and armored vehicles. Saudi-owned al-Hayat newspaper reported there were 1,500 troops deployed.
Most of the troops came from the UAE, according to al-Hayat, which is a member of the Saudi-led coalition and has been conducting airstrikes in Yemen for over four months.
The Yemeni government announced Aden had been reclaimed in mid-July.
