ALBAWABA - Amid the Ukraine crisis, the Hungarian Foreign Minister raises concerns about Brussels allegedly preparing for a new world war.
Amid the growing tensions along the Ukrainian front lines, Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto expressed concerns in a recent remark, implying that Brussels is preparing for a possible new world battle.
Szijjarto made these comments while he was in Luxembourg for the EU Foreign and Defence Ministers' conference, which was called to discuss the urgent problems in the Middle East and Ukraine. He issued a dire warning, claiming that the US, NATO, and EU were in a rush to arm Ukraine and that this may start a global war.
Given the recent acceptance of a US aid package for Ukraine and the subsequent drive for greater militarization by some European politicians, Szijjarto declared, "There is a growing sense of preparation for a new world war in Brussels." Rather than placing peace and diplomatic solutions first, the US, NATO, and EU are rushing to arm Ukraine with more weaponry. Stopping the build-up to a world war is essential."
Szijjarto also pointed out how many politicians in Europe and the North Atlantic region had a war mentality, which contrasted with Hungary's position of staying neutral in the Ukraine conflict. He emphasised that participants continue to accept Russia's military superiority and underlined the urgency of addressing the rapidly worsening situation in Ukraine.
Szijjarto expressed his concerns once again, criticising the EU's plans for additional arms shipments to Ukraine and claiming that Brussels seems to be preparing for a possible new world war in response to the deteriorating situation on the Ukrainian front lines.
