IBQ announced today its sponsorship of the 5th IBQ Communicators Awards 2010 at a ceremony held at IBQ head office in Doha. The Awards are organised by the International Competent Communicators (ICC)-ONE Toastmasters Club to encourage and promote communication and leadership skills in the local community.
The competition was initiated to promote local awareness of public speaking and its importance in developing effective communication, personal development and leadership skills. The Awards are open to all residents aged 18 years old and kicks of with preliminary rounds in October ending with the Finals to be held at the Ramada Hotel in November 2010 where the best speakers in Qatar will be chosen in both the Humorous and International categories.
The IBQ Communicators Awards has witnessed significant growth since inception and has garnered immense interest from the public. This has been underlined by the increasing number of competing participants which reached over 80 in 2009 with 16 participants in the finals. The IBQ Communicators Awards is now considered to be one of the major calendar events accentuated by a higher international representation of young people and women from all backgrounds.

The ICC-ONE Toastmasters is a member of the renowned and prestigious Toastmasters International. Their objective is to organize member clubs to provide a mutual supportive learning environment where every member has the opportunity to develop communication and leadership skills, and in turn foster self-confidence and personal growth.
The Toastmasters run regular meetings twice a month, as well as conducting various Speech craft and Youth Leadership programs in line with Toastmasters International guidelines.
