ILO Plans $16.6m Seed for South Lebanon

The International Labor Organization plans to use "seed money" to initiate 18 projects worth $16.6 million for developing the impoverished south of Lebanon, its regional director was quoted by the Daily Star as saying Thursday. 

The projects will target liberated areas in the south, said the paper, adding that an ILO mission had visited these areas and also met with several local authorities as well as officials in the Lebanese government. 

As a result, they submitted a comprehensive document assessing the South's needs and estimated that $16.6 million is required for the execution of 18 socio-economic and infrastructure projects, the paper said quoting ILO director in the country - Albawaba.com
