India is one of the most rapidly developing countries in the world from an IT perspective


An Indian delegation led by Mr. Damodar Reddy, Honorable Minister for Communication and Information Technology called on the Ras Al Khaimah Free Trade Zone (RAK FTZ) today. The official delegation was received by Maryam Al Murshidi Al Shehhi, the zone’s Assistant Director, and Mr. Binu Pisharady the Regional Manager of the RAK FTZ liaison office in India.

The visit of the delegation aimed at getting introduced to the zone’s latest achievements and to enhance cooperation between Ras Al Khaimah and India. The visit of the Indian delegation was one of many visits officials and business people from India conduct to the RAK FTZ to explore business opportunities at the zone which has successfully attracted hundreds of Indian companies to expand their operations here. Those companies have achieved considerable success as a result of the ideal investment environment the RAK FTZ created to its clients which suits all types of investments.

Al Murshedi underlined the importance of such visits in which delegations and companies from around the world are discovering business opportunities in Ras Al Khaimah. She said India is one of the world’s fastest growing market and a prime partner where the Indian companies are expanding remarkably in the region.

The delegation was thoroughly introduced to the world’s most advanced IT systems the RAK FTZ uses as a unique value for its clients. She stressed that the RAK FTZ has actively pursued innovative IT systems and has therefore achieved regional and global recognition in this field. In addition, the Indian delegation was also introduced to the RAK FTZ state of the art facilities.

Al Murshedi said the visit of the Indian delegation is of special importance when discussing IT and Technology as India is one of the most rapidly developing countries in the world from an IT perspective. She stressed that the Indian long experience and advanced technology can constantly contribute to further enhance the services and facilities the RAK FTZ offers to its clients.

Mr. Reddy praised the up-to-date technological standards the RAK FTZ implements, and the establishment of a culture of continuous improvement. He expressed his hope that this visit would further boost bilateral relations and pave way for increased cooperation between Ras Al Khaimah and India especially in IT.
