Indonesia's national assembly (MPR) on Saturday voted unanimously to summon Indonesian President Abdurrahman Wahid to appear before them to account for his 21-month rule.
A rejection of the account, demanded for Monday, would be tantamount to impeachment.
MPR chairman Amien Rais said that 537 MPs out of the 537 present when the vote was taken had voted for the move, and that there were no abstentions and no votes against.
The decision followed an earlier overwhelming vote to launch the impeachment session against Wahid, who in turn accuses the MPR of acting unconstitutionally.
"Before we close today's plenary session, which is actually part of the special (impeachment) session, we state that... we will reconvene for the second plenary meeting on Monday to hear the accountability speech of President Abdurrahman Wahid," Rais said.
The session adjourned several minutes later -- JAKARTA (AFP)
