An Indonesian boxer has died after being in a coma for 16 days after being knocked out in a fight, AFP quoted hospital’s staff on Monday.
The agency added that Dipo Saloko, 30, Indonesia's fourth-ranked Flyweight, died in the intensive care unit of the Indonesian Christian Hospital on Sunday. The boxer Saloko had never regained consciousness after being admitted to hospital on June 16th.
"The register says he died of a brain hemorrhage," the hospital staff member told AFP, who identified himself only as Donald.
Saloko was knocked out in the seventh round of a mini flyweight bout against Rio Saragih during a weekly boxing tournament broadcast nationwide by one of the private station – Albawaba.com
