Informa Telecoms and Media, the leading provider of business intelligence and strategic services to the global telecoms and media markets, announced today that over 120 of the world’s leading mobile communications technology vendors will take part in the 11th GSM>3G Middle East and Gulf (MEG) conference & exhibition taking place on 11-12 September 2006, at the Dubai International Convention Centre, Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
An updated showroom design will allow exhibitors and visitors to maximize their time with opportunities for hands-on demonstrations, interactive presentations and online & mobile device networking tools designed to promote maximum connected effectiveness for all attendees.
"The event is an ideal platform for the leading network vendors, software developers and operators interested in establishing key partnerships with the region’s operators," said the Managing Director of the successful GSM > 3G World Series events, Paul Dunne. "The possibilities for companies participating in this year's exhibition are boundless. For new entrants, and those already with a global footprint alike, our exhibitors will benefit from a highly targeted, high-level and business focused audience with whom to do business."
A range of regional and international companies will participate in the exhibition, displaying their latest technologies, network equipments, software, content and management solutions. Global telecom vendors like Motorola, Blackberry, Nokia and Siemens will exhibit alongside companies known in the MEG region, such as the UAE service provider Etisalat, the Dubai-based card and packaging manufacturer Workz Middle East and Al Babtain.
With several additional features for 2006, the exhibition floor will again provide a unique forum for the international vendor and operator community to exchange regionally focused business ideas and information.
“Due to popular demand, this year the show-floor will contain a wireless broadband zone that allows vendors from IP, VoIP, Wi-Fi, WiMAX and other, related converged technologies a dedicated arena to showcase their current—even their future—solutions here," Paul Dunne said. “With convergence being the watch-word of the moment we see this arena as a vital component of our expanded show.”
A free exhibition seminar theater will provide exhibitors space for 30-minute presentations with audio and visual display capabilities giving exhibition visitors an informal and spontaneous opportunity to learn about companies and their brand-new solutions.
"This event provides a fantastic, digestible overview of the current and future state of play for the mobile communications market," Jordan Stone, Informa's wireless strategy researcher, explained. "The MEG region is made up of some of the fastest growing and most challenging markets in the world. Each opportunity for interaction between them is incredibly important for their development, given the pace at which many of these markets are growing and changing."
Stone noted that the diversity of technologies represented by exhibitors was a good indication of the importance of the MEG region to participating companies. He added that the level of detail possible in the exhibitors' demonstrations made the event a good chance for competitors to learn about each others products. "Overall," Stone said, "I truly believe those who have chosen to set up a booth this year have made a profitable decision. They can expect their business to reap the benefits for a long while to come post-September"
