Intel Israel Exports Reach $1.2b in 8 Months

In the first eight months of the year, Intel Israel beat expectations and surpassed $1 billion in exports, Jerusalem Post reported Tuesday.  

The daily quoted the company as saying that the exports from January to August were an estimated $1.2b compared with $810 million for all of 1999, marking the total exporting operations for the whole year for the Kiryat Gat plant alone are expected to reach $1.3b.  

"Exports from the Kiryat Gat plant during the designated period came to $796m those of the R & D Center in Haifa came to $202m., and the Jerusalem plant [Fab8] $185m.," Intel Israel's Co-CEO and head of the Kiryat Gat plant, Alex Kornhauser was quoted by the daily as saying. 

Intel was founded in 1968 to build semiconductor memory products. It has been more than 25 years since Intel made technological history with the introduction of the world's first microprocessor. The computer and Internet revolution that this technology enabled has changed the world, according to the company’s website. 

Intel says it seeks to establish itself as a preeminent building block supplier to the worldwide Internet economy. It supplies the computer market with chips, boards, systems and software - Albawaba.com
