The first interactive Children's City in the Gulf is nearing completion in Dubai's Creek Park, and is expected to open in September, reported the Gulf News on Saturday. Dubai Municipality is building the 90,000 square foot attraction, which will provide kids with their own learning zone and amusement facilities.

Work began last February on the Dh77 million educational project, which has three buildings that will house a planetarium, cultural center and study areas.

Abdulla Al Shaibani, the director of Dubai Municipality's general projects Section, said the design was based on colored building blocks that are familiar to children.

The project, he said, aimed to give children a hands-on experience of the theoretical subjects they were learning at school, and was primarily targeting five to 12-year-olds, although items of interest would also be included for toddlers and teenagers – Albawaba.com
